Problem solving
What is problem solving about?
The Community Safety Partnership is committed to developing the problem solving approach within communities, as a useful and successful way of involving them in community safety and antisocial behaviour issues. We also try to encourage communities to continue using this approach to identify ongoing action and to work together to develop safer communities.
The Problem Solving process uses the IDPARTNERS model developed by Sixth Sense Training. All members of the Community Safety Team have been trained in using this process. IDPARTNERS ensures that groups work in a structured way. Other additional important factors considered are 'Who shares your problem?' and 'Who doesn't share your problem?'

- R Review - Did the methods you used work

Projects and initiatives have been developed through the Community Safety Partnership Sub Groups (Safe, Healthy and Confident). These include SafeAyr, SafeAyr Shore, Womens Centre Assertiveness Training, Well Being Project, Winter MOT for over 60's, Reckless Driving Wrecks Lives and Targeted Approach to Young People (TAYP) project.
The process has also been used successfully working with communities to deal with antisocial behaviour and community safety issues in their area. A number of problem solving groups have been set up involving community members and other agencies in Prestwick Oval, Dundonald, Tarbolton/Mossblown, Ayr North and Girvan. These groups have used a range of interventions including Redeployable CCTV.
