ASN Assessment Process
Initial Concerns
- Concerns identified by class teacher
- Consultation with parents and child/young person
- Differentiation put in place
- Support strategies recorded either through minute of meeting or template
- Review supports Ecological Assessment
- Review has indicated that concerns have continued
- Further assessment required and agreed by parents and child/young person
Ecological Assessment begins
- Assessments gathered and analysed
- Consultation with parents, child and staff to develop action plan of support
- Review supports further assesment of: Literacy, Numeracy & Health & Wellbeing
- Review indicates that concerns continue
Further assessment required and agreed by parents and child/ young person
- Consider where the concerns are: Literacy, Numeracy, Health and Wellbeing or across the 3 areas
- Consider which assessments would be best to answer your assessment question
- Assessments gathered and analysed
- Consultation with parents, child and staff to develop action plan of support
- Review supports
Specific difficulty being considered
- Ensure enough evidence has been collated
- Meet with parents and child/young person to discuss assessment and analysis
- If dyslexia is identified, record on SEEMIS and on the Record of Identification of Dyslexia
