A positive picture for school leavers in South Ayrshire
South Ayrshire Council's commitment to ensuring school leavers go on to positive destinations has been recognised in figures released by the Scottish Government.
A massive 98.3% of our young people move on to a positive destination when they leave school. With the Scottish average at 95.5%, this is an outstanding achievement which underlines our commitment to closing the gap for young people by helping them fulfil their potential.
Councillor William Grant, Children and Young People Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: "To hear that we are once again among the best in Scotland when it comes to positive destinations for school leavers really is fantastic news.
"I'm delighted that our school leaver destinations remain high in the league table nationally.
I'm particularly proud of the commitment from our young people, and the successful partnership working between schools, Thriving Communities staff, Skills Development Scotland and Ayrshire College. All in all, we have gone the extra mile to make a difference to young people in South Ayrshire."
