Invergarven School Pupil Raises £916 for Aoife's Sensory Bus
A pupil from Invergarven School in Girvan made a very special donation to Aoife's Sensory Bus this week, following a heroic sponsored walk to raise funds for the charity.
S3 pupil Sophie has cerebral palsy, but she didn't let this stop her from smashing her goal of walking an impressive 1.7 miles using her walking frame in the school corridors over the course of a few weeks.
She raised a fantastic £916 for the charity, who provide sensory and interactive opportunities and experiences for local young people.
Sophie and her family received a special visit from Aoife's Sensory Bus, where she was able to present them with a cheque.
Councillor William Grant, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People said: "I'd like to say a huge well done to Sophie for her fantastic achievement. The funds she has raised for Aoife's Sensory Bus will help make a difference to other young people in the area, and I'm sure her family, friends and staff at the school are all very proud of her."
