Order a certificate
Order replacement certificates online for birth, death, marriage and civil partnerships.
Certificates can be issued for any event registered in South Ayrshire. We can also provide certificates from any registration district in Scotland, except for events registered during the current or previous year. In these cases you should contact the office where the event was registered.
Please note, in the case of a birth entry, if the event is registered under the Adoptive Children's Register, this entry can only be issued by the National Records office for Scotland in Edinburgh.

Before you start
You'll need a debit or credit card to pay for the certificates.
Birth certificate
To order a birth certificate you'll need the:
- first name of the person
- last name at birth
- date of birth
- place of birth
- mother's maiden name
Marriage or civil partnership certificate
To order a marriage or civil partnership certificate you'll need the:
- first names of partner 1 and 2
- last names at birth for partner 1 and 2
- date of marriage or civil partnership
- place of marriage or civil partnership
Death certificate
To order a death certificate you'll need the:
- name of deceased
- date of death
- place of death
- age at death
How to order
All certificate orders are by telephone only and once prepared, will be posted first class mail.
