Gym equipment upgrade - Citadel

We know it's been a really difficult year, and COVID-19 has had a massive impact on gyms and leisure facilities. The pandemic has meant that you haven't been able to access our full range of services for much of 2020. We can't wait to welcome you back as soon as national guidance allows. In the meantime, we'd like to update you further on what we've been doing behind the scenes to improve our facilities. 

Throughout the last year we listened to our customers and staff to understand what is important to them to help us develop and improve the service. You told us that you wanted better gym equipment - we have been working in partnership with industry experts at Life Fitness and a proposal has been developed which recommended new equipment.  This proposal included replacing our existing fixed resistance kit with Life Fitness Hammer Strength Select kit, and our Cardiovascular kit with new Life Fitness models. We have also redesigned the layout and flow of equipment to improve your experience as a gym user. This will ensure that we can deliver the best service possible until the new leisure centre project in Alloway Street, Ayr is complete. The team of design specialists at Life Fitness have been working with our staff to design the Gym upgrade ensuring consideration is given to the equipment, space, health and safety requirements and customer needs. 

Thanks to all of you who took time to complete our layout and equipment survey in December 2020. One of the things you told us was that you would like better gym equipment. We will be sharing some pictures each day showing what you can expect to see when we get the go ahead to reopen from the Scottish Government, over the next few days on our website and through our social media channels, here - https://facebook.com/sportandleisuresouthayrshire/
