Assessment process
Assessing gymnasts can be a challenging process and to give you an idea of how we assess the following table shows scales used in this process. Your child's will be assessed throughout each term by our coaches.
In addition, we give children the opportunity to work through the Scottish Gymnastics Association Proficiency Badge Schemes (1 - 8) and those who complete these, can work through the British Gymnastics Advanced Proficiency Awards.
Class assessments will be marked as below, generally gymnasts will move up a skill on completion of 12 tasks/skills for their level.
Not Assessed - This could mean your child has not yet covered these skills or cannot yet perform it. This is often the case if they are new to the class.
Keep Practising - Able to display some elements of the task/skill, however, lacks confidence/ability to complete it.
On the right track - Task/Skill is being attempted but is not consistent and has poor elements.
So close - Makes a good attempt at the skill/task. A few small errors still to be worked on.
Pass - Hardly any minor errors in the task/skill. Displays good control and completes task smoothly. |
