Adult Mental Health Services
South Ayrshire Mental Health Practitioners (MHP) and Community Link Practitioners (CLP)
South Ayrshire Mental Health Practitioners (MHP) and Community Link Practitioners (CLP) have changed from face to face appointments in GP practices to telephone contact at present.
Administration staff within your practice will make a diary appointment for telephone contact for 30 minutes (calls on average last 20 minutes). It's business as usual with practice staff identifying needs i.e. Mental Health to MHP and social issues to CLP (as outlined in guidance). All calls will continue to be documented within the GP record (Vision or eMIS). More time can be offered over and above current practice on a needs basis
Referrals as required will still be processed, to cCBT, CMHT or PCMHT, as usual we may need to look at other ways to offer individuals information if not seeing them, for instance via post. We are unable to send information out via our own email system, however we can perhaps progress this via the arranged system within your practice
South Ayrshire Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT)
We have carefully reviewed Scottish Government and Health Protection Scotland advice in relation to the risks associated with the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We are currently offering telephone contact to the patients who have been referred to our service to minimise the spread of Covid 19 to patients and staff alike.
Staff are advised to complete an ARAF for each person we are contacting by phone to review risk and if affected by Covid 19 .Staff are rotating to reduce the spread of corona virus.
South Ayrshire Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
South Ayrshire Adult Community Mental Health Team continues to provide a service to patient's carers and other agencies. In the majority of cases this is now Via Telephone rather than Face to face contact. The team continues to provide a "duty service" offering advice and support for those experiencing acute problems with their mental health.
The team is offering practical support to those patients identified as being particularly vulnerable. The team continues to provide support with medication to their patients as is required. The team continues to accept referrals however referrers are being made aware that where appropriate the contact with the patients will be via telephone unless otherwise indicated (clinically).
South Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team for the Elderly (CMHTE)
All routine reviews and Memory Clinics have been cancelled. All of our Memory Cafes and Cognitive Stimulation Groups have also been postponed. We are prioritizing At Risk people on our caseload and carrying out any medication administrations as before. Urgent referrals will be triaged and assessed where appropriate.
We are still contactable via telephone for ongoing support and reviews as well as any queries.
