Care at Home Services 

HSCP staff are supporting those that attended on an outreach basis by providing lunch and social support as requested.

Homecare services are continuing to work to provide both existing and take on new packages of care and support across our communities. We are doing this by working alongside our external providers and by communicating with families around any changes that have to be made to existing services due to the challenges we all face.

Our homecare services have been provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used as required and this is designed to protect those whom we provide a service and the staff themselves. We are committed to providing a high quality care and support service and we will do our utmost to communicate with those who receive a service, their families and our staff up to date of  any changes as necessary.

Care Homes 

Care Homes have been issued with guidance and have been putting measures in place to support their residents. Should there be any concerns about relatives or loved ones, please contact the Care Home directly.

Community Nursing Service 

The Community Nursing service is continuing to operate focussing on those most at need, the service is coping very well with the challenges and working closely with GP Practices.

Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland Support

Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) is supporting people who are feeling lonely and isolated or those who need help with deliveries during self-isolation. From regular chats over the phone, to dog walking, shopping, or medication deliveries. Volunteers are here to make sure you stay safe and well in your own home.

Day Centres - Older Adults 

We have carefully reviewed Scottish Government and Health Protection Scotland advice in relation to the risks associated with the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the needs of people who receive services from Day Services. This has led us to move to a managed closure of these services to protect vulnerable older people, many with underlying health conditions. 

Nursery Court, Girvan closed on 18th March and Overmills, Ayr closed on 20th March.

Health Improvement Team

The Health Improvement Team (Department of Public Heath) is providing a range of supports to keep people healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to find out more. 

In addition, the Better Health Hub will be providing a telephone service on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am-4pm and on Thursday from 10am to 12noon.  This service will provide individual support for those who are concerned about their ability to stay healthy during this outbreak, or those that support them. Please contact the service on 0758 417 4428. They are happy to ring you back if you are worried about mobile phone charges, or you could send them a text message and they will get in touch.  Alternatively you can email AA-UHB.BetterHealthHub.nhs.net.

Telecare

Telecare services are still available from Monday 8.45am to 4.45pm and Friday 8.45am to 4pm should be contacted on 01292 880929. Outwith these hours, please contact 0300 123 0900. Currently, the service is continuing to respond to emergency calls and we are limited to carrying out new installations to support hospital discharge and urgency community palliative care.
